The composer/keyboardist—a Brooklyn native and former student of reed man Marty Ehrlich—has created a smart, versatile and accessible collection that bridges genres and techniques, while remaining at home in the jazz idiom.

Dan Berg has correctly named this album of DAN BERG & THE GESTALT 'The Manifesto' — as though this collection of works will be the vanguard for his fame. Berg is a man of many interests — jazz, classical, rock, and world music — and he marries them all on this unique recording.

This eight-song collection, released in September 2010, represents the debut offering from composer/keyboardist DAN BERG and his contemporary jazz outfit, simply called The Gestalt.
One is struck almost immediately by how Berg and company distinguish themselves from the musical pack, irrespective of genre.
